Dominican Cigars

The Dominican Republic is the largest maker of cigars in the world. With over 200,000 acres of tobacco land and perfect climate conditions to grow the plant, the Dominican product is fantastic. Dominicans take their cigar craft seriously and the combination of their culture and experience in cigar making creates some of the best product in the world. Besides, you don’t have the “mystery” of being able to obtain a good Dominican cigar unlike Cubans.

As with anything in this world the Latin phrase “caveat emptor” (Let the buyer beware!) applies to purchasing Dominican cigars. Just because it says Dominican doesn’t guarantee a quality smoke. With well over 500 different cigar brands originating from this location there is bound to be excellent cigars and bad ones. A few of the brands we highly recommend from the Dominican Republic are:

Padron: This is one of the best cigar values for your money. Prices range from $3 (US) to around $10 (US) depending on the size and age. Padrons are the least expensive yet high quality cigars you can find.

Davidoff: This producer offers a high-end quality smoke. Cigars range from the Zino Platinum line and move into their premium lines from there. Prices range from $10 to hundreds of dollars per cigar. Davidoff’s are great for special occasions.

Partages: This is one of the most recognized cigars in the market. Prices are at the higher end of the scale starting at around $20. In our opinion this is a great cigar and they range from mild blends through the entire spectrum to a more robust flavor.

That covers the Dominican cigars. though We realize that there are many more brands and options out there but these are our favorites. We feel you can’t go wrong with any of these choices.
